James Lawrence McVeigh's parentage and birth

If anyone has any proof that Edward McVeigh and Isabel Laughton of the Isle of Man are James' parents, please contact me. I have transcriptions of several documents concerning them, but no proof whatsoever that they were James' parents or any relationship. There is also little proof that he was born on the Isle of Man except family history, and some branches say he was born in Ireland. Family lore says he claimed to be Scottish, came to Georgia from Man, but not necessarily where he was born.

These are the documentations I have on James' birth: 1850 Census: age 38, b. England (1812). 1860 Census: age 42, b. Isle of Man (1818). 1864 GA Census: age 46, b. Ireland (1818) (listed as school teacher) 1880 Census: age 62 born (1812) England (but lists Isle of Man under children) and lists his parents both as born in Ireland (name spelled McVey and listed as a teacher) 1888, Sep. 15: The Constitution (newspaper) states he is about 70 (born 1818). 1892, Dec. 12: The Constitution states he is 87 (born 1805). 1893, Nov. 3: The Constitution states he is 86 (born 1807). 1895, May 6: Indigent Pension application states in his own handwriting that he was born "In Ireland in the year 1819," but he was declared "imbecile" the next year 1897 pension renewal application lists him as 78 (born 1819) 1900 Census: son James, Jr. listed as born Isle of Man (England) 1910 Census: son David E. McVeigh says James was born "at sea" 1920 Census: son James, Jr. says James born in Scotland Wayne Co,GA: Its History and People lists James's parents as natives of No. Ireland (by Randy Campbell) Espinosa (unpublished manuscript): Douglas, Isle of Man.
